Compact Membrane Systems has been selected as the overall winner in the 2016 ICIS Innovation Awards

ICIS’ panel of judges chose CMS as the overall winner based on the strength of the OptipermTM system, designed to separate olefins and paraffins through the use of a fluoropolymer membrane. This technology was recognized for its significant potential to minimize the cost and energy of separating olefins and paraffins, currently one of the most energy intensive separations for refiners and petrochemical manufacturers.

Sudip Majumdar, CTO of CMS, was chosen as one of the Alpha Innovators of the Year for his work in leading the development of the OptipermTM system and CMS was also selected as the winner in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) category, sponsored by ExxonMobil Chemical. It is the first time in the 13 year history of the award that an SME has been chosen as the overall winner!

Sudip Majumdar and Hannah Murnen will travel to London in December to accept the award on the behalf of CMS.
