HR Specialist

The Position

We are planning to expand our team rapidly over the next 12-18 months and we are looking for an HR Specialist with experience in volume recruiting, onboarding, training, compensation structures, and policy development and planning to take a company from under 25 to over 50 employees.

The HR Specialist candidate has the exciting opportunity to take ownership of the existing HR function at CMS by developing and instituting overall processes and policies in order to facilitate growth and maintain compliance. Excitement around maintaining and improving diversity, equity, and inclusivity within our naturally diverse company is a plus.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and Manage Full Cycle Recruiting Process
    • Screen Candidates & Schedule Interviews
    • Guide Managers Through the Recruiting Process
    • Develop Onboarding Plan for New Hires
  • Raise the Level of Communication and Planning Internally on Topics Related to DE&I
  • Develop and Improve Policies and Processes in Accordance with Growth of Team
  • General HR Functions and capabilities for a quickly growing organization:
    • Payroll, Benefits Administration
    • Team incentives: compensation structure and review, performance evaluation process, employee engagement, etc.
    • Training and upskilling programs
    • Coaching and leadership development (incl. high potential programs)


  • The pay range we are offering is $70, 000 - $95,000 and will be based on experience, in addition to the annual compensation we offer stock options and bonus.

What you need for this position

  • Experience with volume recruiting in a small business setting where the headcount will increase to 50+ in a rapid timeline
  • Experience recruiting engineering and technical staff
  • Strong understanding of staffing principles, laws, and procedures and a solid working knowledge of recruitment/employment programs
  • Knowledge of various recruiting techniques, and experience in online/social media recruiting
  • Outstanding work ethic, entrepreneurial and excited to be an integral part of a rapidly growing company
  • A strong sense of ownership: resourceful, solution focused and self-directed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Power Point and Excel
  • Comfortable working in an environment with competing and changing priorities
  • Skilled in creating efficient processes, but experienced enough to know when flexibility is warranted
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience, specifically 2+ years of Recruiting
